Aluminized Silicon Steel Coil (AS) – Standard Pipeline Insulation Grade
Product Overview
Aluminized Silicon Steel Coil, universally abbreviated as AS steel or Al-Si coated steel, is a hot-dip coated product with an aluminum-silicon alloy layer (8–12% silicon) metallurgically bonded to a steel substrate. It combines the structural strength of steel with the oxidation and corrosion resistance of aluminum. This AS120 DX51D Type 1 grade is our most widely used specification, engineered specifically for pipeline insulation jacketing, industrial ductwork and general cladding applications.
Why Choose CNB Aluminized Steel Coil?
As a top 3 aluminized steel manufacturer in China, CNB operates dedicated AS coating lines with strict process control to ensure uniform alloy layer thickness and consistent intermetallic bonding. We maintain 2,000 tons of daily AS steel stock for fast delivery, and every coil undergoes full coating weight, adhesion and surface quality inspection before shipment. Our products have been verified in hundreds of pipeline insulation projects worldwide for long-term reliable performance.

Core Advantages
- Excellent thermal reflectivity: Reflects over 80% of radiant heat, improving insulation efficiency and reducing surface temperature.
- Long-lasting corrosion protection: Stable Al-Si alloy layer resists atmospheric corrosion, UV degradation and industrial fume exposure.
- Good formability: DX51D base supports roll forming, bending, seaming and punching without coating delamination.
- Cost-effective performance: Delivers 600°C heat resistance at only a fraction of the cost of stainless steel.
Applications
This standard AS grade is predominantly used for oil & gas pipeline insulation jacketing, district heating pipe cladding, industrial ventilation ducts, HVAC systems, wall cladding and heat shields. It is also widely fabricated into corrugated jacketing sheets and custom insulation profiles.
